With 300 acres of rolling hills, forests, wetlands, and the sparkling shores of Lake Keesus, Camp Whitcomb/Mason is more than a destination—it’s an experience. Whether you’re planning a one-day field trip or a multi-night retreat, Camp offers unforgettable opportunities for learning, growth, and connection all year long.

Bring the classroom outdoors with programs that align with school curriculum, or design a retreat or event just right for your group with exceptional outdoor educational programming, adventure programming, or simply a space to get away. With flexible scheduling and space for up to 400 guests, we can accommodate your group, from kindergarten classes and church youth retreats to corporate teams and company family picnics.

Please note:

Community Partners are responsible for the supervision of their group members at all times. Youth-based groups are expected to bring chaperones to observe the required ratios. Camp Food Service is required with overnight accommodations at Friendship Lodge and James Lodge.

Lodging & Accommodations

Our lodges are the perfect blend of rustic charm and cozy comfort. All buildings are heated, have electricity, and offer internet access, plus the James Lodge includes air conditioning for those warmer days. Explore each lodge’s unique style and imagine the memories your group could make there.

Friendship Lodge

Friendship Lodge is rustic, comfortable, and fosters meaningful time together.

For groups craving a cozy, close-to-nature retreat, our rustic cabin option offers the perfect setting. Just a short walk from the heart of Camp—Friendship Lodge—your group will find warmth, community, and space to come together. The lodge, complete with a welcoming fireplace, classroom, restrooms, and showers, can host up to 240 guests for meals and memories.

In the cooler months, nine cabins sleep up to 162 guests; in warmer weather, 13 cabins welcome up to 234, ensuring space for everyone to rest and recharge.

Additional touches include:

  • One private apartment, with bunk beds and a private bathroom
  • A central gathering room with a fireplace to spark conversation and connection
  • A separate counselor room for added privacy and rest

James Lodge

James Lodge makes it easy to relax, reconnect, and enjoy your time together—all in one warm, welcoming space.

For groups looking to stay close and comfortable while still immersed in nature, James Lodge offers it all under one roof—meeting spaces, dining, restrooms, and cozy overnight accommodations. It’s the perfect setup for retreats, reunions, or team-building getaways.

The lodge features:

  • A welcoming community room with a fireplace and comfortable seating
  • Two breakout rooms for small group sessions or quiet time
  • A dining hall with its own fireplace for shared meals and conversation
  • Attached dorms and private apartments with restrooms and showers for convenience

Overnight lodging for up to 120 guests includes:

  • Eight dorms, each sleeping 12 in bunk beds, with an additional bunk room attached
  • Two bathrooms with showers on each dorm level
  • Three private upstairs apartments, each with two single beds and a private bath

Stiemke Lodge

Stiemke Lodge offers three bunk-style rooms which is ideal for a close-knit group looking to relax, recharge, and enjoy a peaceful setting together.

Tucked away on the east side of camp, Stiemke Lodge is a warm and welcoming space perfect for smaller group retreats. This self-contained lodge is heated for year-round use and includes everything you need for a comfortable stay—just bring your own food and make the most of the fully equipped kitchen.

Inside, you’ll find:

  • A cozy community room with a fireplace and a bright three-season porch
  • A lower-level game room and flexible space for dining or classroom-style activities
  • A full kitchen with two stoves, two ovens, a refrigerator, microwave, and prep island
