Volunteer for Milwaukee's Youth

At Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee (BGCGM), volunteers have always played a vital role in shaping brighter futures. Each year, more than 550 people lend their time and talents—alumni who give back, corporate teams who roll up their sleeves, and community members who care deeply about Milwaukee’s youth. Volunteers bring energy, mentorship, and joy into our Clubs, creating meaningful moments that help young people grow, lead, and build great futures. Join us and be part of something bigger.

Individual and Corporate Volunteer Opportunities

We warmly invite individuals, corporate partners, and community organizations to join us in making a meaningful impact through volunteering. These opportunities give everyone a chance to connect, contribute, and help shape brighter futures right here in our community. You can volunteer to lead activities inside the Clubs, care for the Camp Whitcomb/Mason grounds, pack healthy snacks, support our holiday gift drive, or jump in on special projects as they arise. There’s a role for every willing heart, no matter how much time you have. Explore the opportunities and complete the contact form below to sign up.

In-Club Volunteer Opportunities (Year-Round)

These opportunities are ideal for groups of 5 to 30 people looking for hands-on, high-impact volunteer experiences. Volunteers participate in planned activities with Club members, such as arts and crafts, recreational games, and light educational projects—all designed to be fun, interactive, and relationship-building. Events typically run between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. (with flexibility) and can be scheduled at any of our dozens of Club locations throughout Milwaukee. Volunteers leave feeling energized and inspired, knowing they helped create moments that matter for local youth.

Spending time in the Clubs was the highlight of my week. I helped with homework during Power Hour, and it was incredible to see how much the kids opened up and grew in confidence. It reminded me how powerful just showing up can be.

- In-Club Volunteer

Volunteering at Camp Whitcomb/Mason was a breath of fresh air—literally and figuratively. Clearing trails and painting cabins alongside my coworkers was a great team-building experience, and knowing it helps create a safe, welcoming space for kids to explore nature made it even more meaningful.

I signed up for healthy snack packing thinking it would be a simple way to give back—but it turned out to be something much bigger. Knowing these snacks help fuel kids through their school day and after-school programs made every minute feel impactful.

Wrapping gifts during the Holiday Gift Drive was such a heartwarming experience. As I tied each bow, I kept thinking about the joy these presents would bring. It felt amazing to be part of something that spreads so much happiness to so many families.

Camp Whitcomb/Mason Groundskeeping

(Year-Round, Except June-August)

Looking for the perfect team outing or meaningful way to give back? Volunteering at Camp Whitcomb/Mason is your chance to roll up your sleeves, work together outdoors, and make a real impact. Each spring and fall, volunteers help maintain the camp’s 306 scenic acres—clearing trails, painting, managing invasive species, splitting wood, and tackling light construction projects. Your efforts keep the camp safe, clean, and ready for thousands of young people to connect with nature, build confidence, and create lifelong memories. Volunteers also refresh facilities between camper groups and help with final cleanups after the season ends. Whether you come as a group or individual, your time helps this special place thrive year-round.

Healthy Snack Packing (Year-Round)

For those looking to volunteer without leaving the office, our healthy snack-packing initiative offers a simple and effective way to support Club members. Volunteers assemble snack kits that we distribute to youth for after-school or at-home nourishment. This initiative supports healthy eating habits and helps children stay focused and energized. We kindly request a monetary or in-kind donation to help cover the cost of snacks and materials.

Holiday Gift Drive

The Holiday Gift Drive, presented by JPMorgan Chase, spreads joy and magic to Milwaukee’s Club kids by ensuring every child who attends our Clubs receives a wrapped gift to brighten their holiday season. Volunteers play a vital role by helping wrap and organize gifts. Your involvement creates unforgettable moments and brightens the holidays for thousands of children and their families.
